
I dunno if anyone reads my blog but im gonna show some progress anyway, i like crit but i dont mind if people dont have an opinion or whatever.
still need to do some minor stuff but it will be presentable by monday, or tuesday or whatever day we have to show these.
There was lots of stuff i wanted to try but didnt get to, i've been rushing just to finish the assets and terrain, the map is still using like 2 hl2 textures and an overlay (concrete, road, and a drain decal.), ill try to get round to replacing them but i still need to Uv/texture some models.
I managed to get the 3d sky working but im not sure how to make the textures look any better.

I read your blog, so here comes some crits:
The treeline in the distance is looking nice, is it possible to make the fog a little bluer to match the sky?
good you got the hdr skydome and 3d skybox working - would it be possible to add really simple 3d blocks to represent certain buildings miles away?
Im have no idea how easy the terrain tool is of course, but would it be possible to add a darker dirtier grass texture under things like that wall to the right and around the tower just to break up the tiling a bit
The pitchblack tree's look a little weird considering how bright everything else is, although this looks like an engine error
Again the shadow directly under the tree's to the right looks a bit strange
All in all its looking pretty good i like the scale of it all,there aren't many people that are doing large scale environments like this
cheers mang, ill try to make the trees lighter i think all i gotta do is disable shadows on either the tree or the leaves (they have to be seperate in source) today im gonna add some grass and stuff around the tower and try to texture the walls.
unfortunatly i dont have time to make much more in the 3d skybox as i have no way of lining up models in it quickly and there are other problems i need to fix its a good suggestion though.
